The Conophytum on this page have been grown from
seed. This is by far the better way to learn and understand the variability
within species - AND, if you wish, you can select the clones nearest to your
heart's desire.

CCM 503
C. pellucidum - SAALBERG
MG 1443-2419
20 seeds sown 20/04/1996.
Five, variable seedlings in a 2.75 inch square, plastic pot on
22/08/2001. |

CCM 503
C. pellucidum - SAALBERG
MG 1443-2419 again but in sunlight which expands the tonal range.
So, is the bright green, solitary-headed plant correct or from
a stray, 'leaper' seed? |

CCM 503
C. pellucidum - SAALBERG
MG 1443-2419 again but from a closer and more lateral viewpoint to
show both the neck of the heads and the length of the sturdy, gleaming
white flowers. |

petals.

Cono. stephanii 'helmutii'
- EENRIET
II
MG 1452-76 seed sown 26/10/1997.
Nine young plants with richly orange flowers that open wide at night to
release their perfume. As the flowers age they stay open during the day
too.

CCM 141
Cono. obcordellum ssp. obcordellum
(spectabile).
Three, (or was it four?), varied plants grown from
mine own 70 minute seeds which were sown 05/11/1987.
Not only are the body markings varied but also
the size and depth of colour of the flowers. This enables you to choose,
if you can, the clone nearest to your heart's desire. All are exquisitely
perfumed at night.
Frustratingly, the most prolific clone here has
smaller heads and relatively poor flowers. It might improve when
the group are given their own, individual pots. |
