CC 418 H. arachnoidea v.
gigas Received in 10/1988 as a leaf propagation from Cok (CG 71 ex Jumanery in 1984). At that time the leaf, with a small plantlet attached at the base, seemed not only hollow but also full of air. Arachnoidea leaves removed for propagation purposes can often become like that whilst developing shoots. By 5/89 the plantlet had increased to 3cm in diameter & was becoming very nice, By 2/2001 it had enlarged into a 7cm diam. ball. The photograph was taken in spring 2003. |

CC 3018 H. arachnoidea v. aranea ?
ex ISI, from Mitsuo Ekuma of Japan in 1991 as H. bolusii v. aranea but without locality. Although this plant has much finer teeth, it is very rounded and Ingo Breuer has suggested that it's an H. arach. v. scabrispina. |
