Started about 1490, the house was the first true country house in the county The building of the house was reputedly begun around 1490 by Thomas Grey, 1st Marquis of Dorset.
Formerly a very grand house King William 111 was entertained here in 1696, such was the grandeur of the house at that time.
Side tower. The house fell into ruin after the 1730s when the family left.
Fifteenth century bricks? The bricks of Bradgate House were reputedly produced on the site.
Peacock perches Internal view from the main gate of the house.

In the summer months peacocks and doves can be seen parading these inner walls.
