Welcome

- to the Cocozza Collection Web Site which we hope you will enjoy.

It is our aim to continuously add to, update and improve the site - so here's hoping you'll want to pop-back often.

Situated in the heart of England this enthusiast's reference collection is mainly intended for the study and propagation of haworthia as well as for the sheer enjoyment of them.

Conophytum are also a great favourite but these are grown in the 12 foot x 8 foot Robinson Roma conservatory.

The conservatory also houses a few of the smaller-growing aloe and a good number of adromischus. Many of the plants in the latter group have collection data so I also hope to include them in the website at a later date.

FAQs and photographs of the Leicester area are also poised for their own pages.

Use the links on the left of the screen to go to the sections of most interest to you. The haworthia and conophytum sections are the most extensive, at present, and extend through several layers and galleries.

You may find it beneficial to view the Site Map to assist you in understanding these layers and, even more beneficial, you can click any link on the Site Map page to go directly to any, desired page.

Come in and look around the Haworthia Greenhouse Gallery...

Our haworthia greenhouse is a 25 foot by 10.5 foot Robinson aluminium and glass house, heated by two Parwin 3Kw fan heaters, one at each end and each one operating from a separate, fused power supply - I do believe in both belt and braces!

This greenhouse is lined with two layers of bubble polythene for both insulation and shading purposes and also has two coats of Cool Glass shading applied each spring.

Haworthia appreciate lower light levels, compared to cactus, but ours still colour well as the greenhouse is aligned with its long axis east/west so receiving all the available daylight the Midlands of England can provide.

The benching is 'home made' from pine treated with a cedar wood shade of preservative. It was designed not only to display the haworthia but also to be strong enough to provide me with support and to be at the most convenient height for me to use. To me, it's worth every hour we spent building it. Thank you, Michael - you're a gem!

On 04/07/2001 we had the opportunity to try out a digital camera and all  the pictures on the following two pages are from then. The camera we used didn't provide a very high resolution but it has produced some very 'painterly' images, which we hope you will enjoy as much as we do.
